Xtream Powered By Mediacom To Rebroadcast 2019 Drake Relays

While the Drake Relays presented by Xtream powered by Mediacom remains suspended due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, Drake Relays’ fans in Iowa can still experience the excitement of the action on the Blue Oval April 19-25.

As part of a series of virtual events to celebrate what would have been the traditional ‘Relays Week,’ Xtream powered by Mediacom, in conjunction with RunnerSpace.com and USA Track and Field, will rebroadcast portions of the 2019 Drake Relays on its Mediacom MC22 platform to its customers in Iowa.

“We’re thrilled that our tremendous partners at Xtream powered by Mediacom, RunnerSpace and USATF have agreed to collaborate to rebroadcast the 2019 Drake Relays,” said Blake Boldon, the Franklin P. Johnson Director of the Drake Relays. “We all wish that we could all be back in Drake Stadium this week to celebrate America’s Athletic Classic and its athletes. However, we are grateful that Mediacom is providing this outlet to our fans to safely celebrate Relays Week with some of the great performances and history made at the 2019 Drake Relays.”

Mediacom’s rebroadcast of the week’s events begins Tuesday, April 21, with the Grand Blue Mile presented by Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield at 7:30 p.m. More Grand Blue Mile action and the Capital Square Vault follow Wednesday evening, while Thursday’s schedule includes the annual Distance Carnival. 

Friday’s broadcast, starting at 7 p.m., features nearly three hours of action while Saturday will highlight the action that took place in front of a 54th consecutive Saturday sell-out crowd. The complete rebroadcast will span 12 hours on Sunday, beginning at 11:00 a.m.

The Drake Relays will also celebrate the entire week on DrakeRelays.org and its social media platforms with interactive and engaging events throughout the week, including Instagram Live events, at-home contests and video features.
